Nigeria entertainment /music industry is the
fastest and growing sector in Nigeria. In recent days now all most every
artiste have production skill nowadays. But their are some Producers
that create space for themselves in the music industry. Nigeria have so
many producer in the music industry ,but i will just highlight the best
in the game for you here.
Even the most talented of producers might not be able to change a
trend of music, because most of the time it is psychological and a whole
of timing is also involved.
There are two ways to change
the trend of music: either you produce an artiste that can change the
trend or you produce a different kind of beat that other producers start
to imitate due to its general acceptance.
1.OJB Jezreel: OJB Jezreel gave birth modern music in
Nigeria.. Once again with due respect to the godfather of music producer
in Nigeria. OJB Jezreel is reason behind 2face idibia Award winning Song African Queen and his aslo write 2face
idibia “Right Here” . He have his own music track “Searching” and most
recently “Locho” . African queen just seem to have eclipsed them all.
2. Cobhams: Probably the most talented Nigerian producer. Producing Asa, Darey, Banky W, Bez, Priaz, the list is endless,
what more can be expected of any producer. He is just someone that
words cannot fully describe. This is not a sentiment, as he has hardly
contributed something new to the drums or other instrument part of
production. But when Cobhams produces a piece for you, that is the master piece. Even more than others his works speaks for him.
3. Don Jazzy: No African list of producers is complete without Don Jazzy. Most noticeable among his achievements is being the producer of Africa’s number one entertainer, D’banj. He also turned producers into celebrities. Before him, most producers have languished in obscurity; Don jazzy was the turning point because he knew his selling point. No long thing album had a different flavour; it was truly African with the fusion of some African sound like congas, which was rare at that time.
4. K-solo: Oba K-solo (like he refers to himself), might not be the most talented producer around, but only few will argue his immense contribution to the music industry. K-solo is the father of commercial music that was much criticized but later accepted. As the producer of Iyanya’s and Timaya’s first albums, you also cannot deny his talent. His fusion of makossa and hiphop, and well as his introduction of the talking drum (a reversed voice of it though) was revolutionary.
5. ID Cabasa: A hugely talented yet under used talent. Producing 9ice and Olamide two Yoruba lyricists who till date still make us appreciate the use of Yoruba in our music. He also enforced the influence of makossa and the talking drum on our music alongside K-solo. The sad part is that he tends to lose grip on his artistes too easily.
Honourable mentions: Kelly handsome (produced Plantashun Boiz among others), Terry G, J martins,TeeY mix, JaMix, Sossick, Docta Frabz, J Sleek, Mekoyo, Sarz, Samkelf, among others.

TGT is a supergroup formed in 2007 that consists of successful R&B singers Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank. The three had been friends for over a decade, and Tyrese was best man at Ginuwine's wedding, but this represents their first collaboration. Their first song is a remix of Tank's "Please Don't Go" The trio also appears on Slim Thug's single "Let Me Grind".
In an interview, Tyrese said the group would be the "ultimate R&B fan experience. Me, Tank and Ginuwine been talking about this forever. The reason why this makes sense is that besides all of us being R&B singers, we're all good friends. Every time I see Tank, every time I see Ginuwine, we all had good energy regardless.
The trio planned the Shirts Off Tour for late 2007,with Avant as an opening act. As part of the tour, they planned to hold auditions for a fourth member of the group. The tour faced delays, however, and was anticipated for early 2008.
The group faced difficulties given that each member of the trio is signed to a different record label, and on August 21, 2008 Ginuwine announced on his MySpace blog that due to label and legal issues they will not be able to release an official TGT album at the moment.
On September 22, 2012, Tyrese reveal on his Twitter page that the group has been officially signed to Atlantic Records. They are currently working on their debut album, The album will be called 3 Kings and will be released in 2013.

I Am Not Afraid Of Rape--Omotola
could this be true the controversial actress herself has said it all herself but could be true
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is one actress that remains sexy and classy despite being a mother of four grown up children. She competes easily with most single stars in the razzmatazz industry in Nigeria, commanding a large number of secret male admirers.
In an industry, where many male fans would do everything possible to get any female celebrity they admire, there is no doubt that Omotola would not be left out of such.
Though not in the news with romance scandals, it is very certain that the queen of Nollywood and one of the 100 most influential people in the world, according to TIME Magazine, had been in situations, where she would have to chase male admirers away.
Speaking on the issue, the glamorous actress admitted that she has male fans, who want more than friendship from her, adding that she deals with the issue in her own way.
According to the delectable Ondo State-born movie superstar, “when you (men) hang around for a while and you don't get anything, you will decide what you want to do (laughs).”
She added that, “I don't think you have to run from anybody, nobody is going to come and rape you. So, it is not a life or death situation. It is as simple as two adults, three friends, and after a while, if one has an ulterior motive, understanding that it's not going to happen, then you can handle it with maturity.
“So, they will decide whether to stick around or go away. Why do we have to fight in the process?”
I got my first kiss from Desmond Elliot - Nollywood actress OMONI OBOLI
Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli has revealed she got her first kiss from Desmond Elliot., am sure her fans will be surprise to read this true confession from the screen goddess herself
"My first kiss movie was in Unfinished Business and that was in 2007 or 2008, I am not sure. It was okay. It was with Desmond Elliot" she said.
According to Omoni it was make-believe so there was nothing to feel uneasy about.
"We are both actors, so we both know what we are doing. The viewers saw it and thought it was amazing and that is the most important thing".
The actress whose turning point in Nollywood was after staring Kunle Afolayan’s block buster movie, Figurine, however has some intimate secrets that may surprise some of her fans as revealed in this encounter with a reporter recently in Lagos.
Despite often stepping out with her husband, you may not also know that the actress although cooks for her husbands, but not all the time. Here is how she captured it in her response.
“My husband is very supportive so it makes life a lot easier for me. I try to give my family quality time when I have time. I cook for my husband often; of course not every night. I do so most times when I’m around and he wants something special. We have somebody who cooks for us. I wouldn’t deny that. If he wants something special, then I’ll prepare it. If I feel I need to do something special for them. I like to bake for them a lot. So I do that often.”
Unlike most men, Omoni said her husband feels great each time they step out together and someone admires her beauty. She said, "My husband feels good when I step out for a red carpet event and other men admire me. Everyone likes to show off something that they like and something they think is beautiful. I think it is a good feeling for him."

NIGERIA FILM INDUSTRY
he first Nigerian films were made by filmmakers such as Ola Balogun and Hubert Ogunde in the 1960s, but they were frustrated by the high cost of film production.[6]
However, television broadcasting in Nigeria began in the 1960s and
received much government support in its early years. By the mid-1980s
every state had its own broadcasting station. Law limited foreign
television content so producers in Lagos began televising local popular
theater productions. Many of these were circulated on video as well, and
a small scale informal video movie trade developed.
The release of the box-office movie Living in Bondage in 1992 by NEK Video Links owned by Kenneth Nnebue in the eastern city of Onitsha set the stage for Nollywood as it is known today. The story goes that Kenneth Nnebue had an excess number of imported video cassettes which he then used to shoot the first film.[7] The huge success of this film set the pace for others to produce other films or home videos. Through the business instincts and ethnic links of the Igbo and their dominance of distribution in major cities across Nigeria, home videos began to reach people across the country. Nollywood exploded into a booming industry that pushed foreign media off the shelves, an industry now marketed all over Africa and the rest of the world.[8] The use of English rather than local languages served to expand the market and aggressive marketing using posters, trailers, and television advertising also played a role in Nollywood's success.
Since then, thousands of movies have been released. One of the first Nigerian movies to reach international renown was the 2003 release Osuofia in London, starring Nkem Owoh, the famous Nigerian comedic actor. Modern Nigerian cinema’s most prolific auteur is Chico Ejiro ("Mr. Prolific"), who directed over 80 films in an 8-year period and brags that he can complete production on a movie in as little as three days.[9] Ejiro’s brother Zeb is the best-known director of these videos outside of the country.
The first Nollywood films were produced with traditional analog video, such as Betacam SP, but today almost all Nollywood movies are produced using digital video technology.[10][11][12][13] The Guardian has cited Nigeria's film industry as the third largest in the world in terms of earnings and estimated the industry to bring in US$200 million per year.[14][15] In 2009, Unesco described Nollywood as being the second-biggest film industry in the world after Bollywood in terms of output and called for greater support for the industry, which is the second-largest employer in Nigeria.[16]
In an effort to improve the quality of Nigerian film productions, the country’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, pledged in 2010 to create a $200 million loan fund to help finance film projects.[17] Nigerian directors adopt new technologies as soon as they become affordable.[citation needed] Editing, music, and other post-production work are done with common computer-based systems.[citation needed]
Feathered Dreams, is the first Nollywood-Ukrainian co-production. Set in Ukraine, the film stars Nigerian actress Omoni Oboli Ukrainian actor Andrey Rozhen who also directed it.[20]
Most of the films are produced by independent companies and businessmen. However, the big money for films in Nigeria is made in the direct-to-video market. The average film costs between US$17,000 and US$23,000, is shot on video in just a week—selling up to 150,000–200,000 units nationwide in one day. With this type of return, more and more are getting into the film business there. By most reports, Nollywood is a $500-million industry. And it keeps growing. According to Frank Ikegwuonu, author of Who's Who in Nollywood,[21] about "1,200 films are produced in Nigeria annually." And more and more filmmakers are heading to Nigeria because of "competitive distribution system and a cheap workforce." Further, Nigerian films seem to be better received by the market when compared to foreign films because "those films are more family oriented than the American films."
Nigerian movies are available in even the most remote areas of the continent. The last few years have seen the growing popularity Nigerian films among the people of African diaspora in both Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Nigerian films are currently receiving wider distribution as Nigerian producers and directors are attending more internationally acclaimed film festivals. In the USA, viewers can watch Nollywood and other West African movies on Afrotainment. On-line streaming is gradually becoming part of the distribution system with sites like IrokoTV and allafricancinema[22] showing Nollywood video content.

Production
Most movies are not produced in studios. Video movies are shot on location all over Nigeria with hotels, homes, and offices often rented out by their owners and appearing in credits in the movies. The most popular locations are shot in the cities of Lagos, Enugu, and Abuja. However, distinct regional variations appear between the northern movies made primarily in the Hausa language, the western Yoruba movies, the Edo language movies shot in Benin City, and the Igbo movies shot in the southeast. Many of the big producers have offices in Surulere, Lagos.
International co-productions
With an eye to attracting an international mainstream audience, Nigerian film-makers are increasingly turning to the West for actors like Isaiah Washington, and Thandie Newton.[18] The same developments are taking place in co-productions with film-makers from other African countries. The 'Princess of Africa,' Yvonne Chaka Chaka, starred in Foreign Demons, a film set in Nigeria as well as her native South Africa.[19]Feathered Dreams, is the first Nollywood-Ukrainian co-production. Set in Ukraine, the film stars Nigerian actress Omoni Oboli Ukrainian actor Andrey Rozhen who also directed it.[20]
Distribution
The primary distribution centers are Idumota Market on Lagos Island, 51 Iweka Road in Onitsha in Anambra State, and 1/3 Pound Road Aba in Abia State. Currently, Nigerian films outsell Hollywood films in Nigeria and many other African countries. Some 300 producers turn out movies at an astonishing rate—somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 a year. The films go straight to DVD and VCD discs. Thirty new titles are delivered to Nigerian shops and market stalls every week, where an average film sells 50,000 copies. A hit may sell several hundred thousand. Discs sell for two dollars each, making them affordable for most Nigerians and providing astounding returns for the producers. Most of the films are produced by independent companies and businessmen. Themes
Many Nollywood movies have themes that deal with the moral dilemmas facing modern Africans. Some movies promote the Christian or Islamic faiths, and some movies are overtly evangelical. Others, however, address questions of religious diversity, such as the popular film One God One Nation, about a Muslim man and a Christian woman who want to marry but go through many obstacles.MORE 2FACE
Early life
2Face Idibia was born Innocent Ujah Idibia in Jos, Nigeria. NOLLYWOOD: AUDITION BRINGS OUT THE BEST- Actor Kelechi AkaraVeteran actor, Kelechi Akara, who has also featured in so many Nollywood movies including: 'The Third Generals, My Class Mate, Iron Pant, Tears of the Innocent, Treasure Coffin, David & Goliath' and so many others, has just revealed in an interview that Nollywood can only return to its original glory only if it can bring back auditions the way it was then. He explained that things have changed from when he started out till now, ''so many things have changed. You hardly see audition notices like before and it affects the upcoming artists that want to join Nollywood. They can now bring anybody from anywhere! They don't mind if he or she is registered with the Guild and more; how about those who registered for years that have not seen even extras (waka-pass) to play! Are they fools? It's a very good thing for new artistes to come up but they should do it the right way; from auditions you'll get the best. These days they call on the phone, if they want to shoot a movie. Some artistes buy gifts or pay money, so they'll get roles in movies, what a shame. So many of them are desperate and can do anything to appear on screen. But I don't really blame them somehow because things are not done the way it should be done. If they bring auditions back like it used to be things like that will reduce. In the industry there are so many unnecessary competitions and so many other things, “he said.Veteran actor, Kelechi Akara, who has also featured in so many Nollywood movies including: 'The Third Generals, My Class Mate, Iron Pant, Tears of the Innocent, Treasure Coffin, David & Goliath' and so many others, has just revealed in an interview that Nollywood can only return to its original glory only if it can bring back auditions the way it was then. Mode9 to quit rap music
A recent interview granted by Mode9, one
of Nigeria’s leading rappers, to an American cable TV network, is
currently the subject of a nationwide debate among music fans in
Nigeria.
In it, Mode9 told the crew of BET
that he was going to quit rap music and devote the rest of his life to
discovering and grooming new talents that will step in his shoes.
The rapper’s comments has left many music fans puzzled and wondering why he wants to quit at a time the industry is flourishing.
But in a telephone interview with LIFE&BEAT, Mode9 claimed that he was quoted wrongly.
He said, “I never said I would quit rap
music. I only said I would not do it forever. A lot of people
misconstrue my words. Whenever a good thing happens to me, it is never
seen in the news. Only bad things are mentioned. I just finished work on
a remix of my EP.
“A reporter asked why I did not do a
tribute for Dagrin. I told him everybody was doing one, including those
that did not know him; I said some other things, but I was misquoted.
Some people are just trying to pull me down.”
